Imperial Crane Sponsors the Lift and Move USA Event

Imperial Crane Services, Inc. was a sponsor at the Lift and Move USA event on Thursday, June 16th and Friday, June 17th. Lift and Move USA was a conference held at the Chicago Marriott to recruit employees to the crane, rigging, and specialized transport industries. Attendees included 100 veterans, high school and college students from Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. “With the critical shortage of skilled labors in our industry, becoming a crane operator is another career alternative for students and veterans,“ said Bill Tierney, Vice President of Imperial Crane. SC&RA (Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association), KHL Group and the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators organized this event and were overwhelmed with the success.

Bob Kaleta, a crane operator at Imperial, presented at the Lift and Move event. He gave an overview of his career, discussed what attracted him to this industry, and how being a crane operator is not a routine 9-5 job. He also described his most memorable project and his most challenging lift. Bob has been employed at Imperial for over 25 years.

After a half day of presentations on day one, Imperial sponsored the evening BBQ where students and veterans had the opportunity to climb aboard a crane or truck simulator and experience what it’s like to be a crane operator or driver.

For over 45 years, Imperial Crane Services, Inc. has been committed to the manufacturing and heavy industries providing crane rentals on daily or long term lift projects. Imperial is dedicated to providing the highest standards in safety, service and quality. Starting as a one crane operation, Imperial has grown their rental and sales divisions to create a worldwide organization.
