Imperial Crane Recognized For Their Ongoing Commitment to Safety

Imperial Crane Services was presented with a safety award at the Northwest Indiana Business Roundtable (NWIBRT) Awards Banquet – Honoring Excellence in Construction in May of 2015. The Achievement Award recognizes companies with Days Away From Work (DAFW) and Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) lower than the NWI industry average, an EMR < .9 and the ability to demonstrate an acceptable safety management system.

At the SC&RA (Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association) in April, Imperial Crane won the Crane & Rigging Group Safety Award and the Crane Operator Safety Award. The Group Safety Award recognizes member companies that exemplify a commitment to workplace safety. The Crane Operator Safety Award is awarded to companies that exemplify a commitment to workplace safety and is presented to certified crane operators who exhibit exemplary work achievements while accumulating 10,000 consecutive man-hours and recording zero accidents and incidents.

On April 15th, Imperial Crane was presented with a safety award at the Association of Subcontractors & Affiliates (ASA Chicago) 20th annual Safety Award Program in front of its General Contractor Council. The safety award was presented to companies who have demonstrated continuing efforts in the implementation of an exemplary safety program. Member companies are awarded for their success in lowering a combination of safety-related factors, including their Experience Modification Rate (EMR), OSHA Recordables and Citations, and the DART Score.

“Our entire organization’s commitment to our “Talk Safety, Live Safety” culture can be attributed to strong leadership and full support from ownership. We take a proactive approach with our safety program and work hard to create an incident and injury free work environment. In our industry, our record low EMR of .68 is something we are proud of and we will continue to be vigilant in striving for an even lower EMR. We just don’t say it. We mean it,” said Jeanie Hoffman, Safety Compliance Director.
